So, it’s the middle of the year. I’m actually a little behind with my 2017 reading challenge. But there’s still enough time to catch up!
✥
Best book you’ve read so far in 2015.
Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare – It was a great start of an amazing series. My favorite by Cassandra Clare so far.
The Midwife of Venice by Roberta Rich – Amazing historical fiction about a midwife in 14th century Venice, going through a lot of struggles and drama.
✥
Best sequel you’ve read so far in 2015.
Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare – I loved Lady Midnight but this one was just mindblowing! Left me a speechless crybaby.
✥
New release you haven’t read yet, but want to.
Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh and Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth. New books from the authors I adore and loved their previous books.
✥
Most anticipated release for the second half of the year.
The Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas- The novel about my favorite character in the Throne of Glass series, Chaol. Can’t wait!
The Last Tudor by Philippa Gregory. It’s going to be the last book in Plantagenet-Tudor series, which I love so much. Focusing on Lady Jane Grey, nine-day Queen. Very excited for this one!
✥
Biggest disappointment.
The Beauty of Darkness by Mary E. Pearson. I absolutely adore the first two books of the series, and my expectations for the last book were higher than ever, but it was very disappointing. I didn’t enjoy it as much as I wanted.
✥
Biggest surprise.
The Jewel by Amy Ewing. A series I didn’t expect to like but ended up loving it.
✥
Favorite new author. (Debut or new to you)
Ken Follett. Read The Fall of Giants. I thought I would get bored by the middle of the book since it’s a thick one with a million characters and historical events but I enjoyed it very much and going to continue with the series.
✥
Newest fictional crush.
Julian Blackthorn. What can I say, he’s perfect. The was he carries for his family and Emma… And he showed a little bit of his dark side in this book, very intrigued to see his development in the third book of the series.
✥
Newest favorite character.
Jest the Joker from Heartless by Marissa Mayer. He’s so funny and adorable. I just love him.
✥
Book that made you cry.
Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer. A real story about the journey to the Everest summit. My Goodness, it was a very emotional and heartbreaking story, I admire people who can actually do these things. The movie adaptation, Everest, was also great.
✥
Book that made you happy.
I’ve Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella. All of her books make me happy and I laugh a lot while reading them.
✥
Favorite book to film adaptation you saw this year.
Beauty and the Beast if I can call it a book adaptation. But it’s a fairytale so it counts.
✥
Most beautiful book you’ve bought so far this year.
The Throne of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas.
