Hey guys, wanted to share some personal information and reading facts about myself. So you can get to know me a bit better, although I think my reading choices can tell a lot about me. Hopeless romantic, history lover and daydreamer. Here are some fun reading facts about me, some of them seriously weird so bear with me!
I like to prepare for reading, my so-called pre-reading routine. Only happens though when I’m excited about the book I’m about to read or when I re-reading one of my all-time favorites. So, I organize the space where I’m about to sit down and read, put on a cozy PJ and fluffy socks, make a cup of coffee or tea, and so on.
I don’t like used books. I find books very personal items and feel like it contains people’s energy. Sounds weird, huh?
I’m always peaking at the last page while hoping not to see any spoilers. I guess it’s a nerd way to get an adrenaline rush, pick really quickly on the last page and then hurry to close the book before seeing any spoilers. Go figure…
I’m always doing a small (or not very small) research about the topic I’m reading about in the book. Just to see the historical accuracy. Usually, after a couple hours, I get carried away and find myself reading about the Confederates when originally I was searching King Æthelwulf.
.
I’m constantly updating my top 10 favorite male characters. Current number 1 is…. Dan Brown’s Robert Langdon! Then go, Mr. Darcy, Colonel Brandon, Rhett Buttler, Mr. Rochester, Fred and George Wisley…
I have a huge selection of pretty bookmarks but eventually using a random piece of paper.
I get carried away buying new books and not reading them. Than promise myself not to buy any until I finish those, but doing it all over again. As a result, having a huge pile of unread books that I don’t even remember having. Hi, I’m a bookaholic…
I don’t buy books with not so pretty covers. I know, I know “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” I’m so guilty… I just love admiring the beautiful covers and how they look on my shelves.
I’m going to the bookstores alone. Going to the bookstore or the library is like being in a time loop. Literally, hours of wandering in the bookshelves isles, feel like one minute.
When I get to the most intense part of the book, I always take a break. Making a cup of coffee and getting back to it even more excited! Feel like I need a moment to process previous info before getting to the big twist.
I hope you liked this post and I would gladly read some reading facts about you, so comment below!
I do quite a few of these two. We all judge a book by its cover and I have been known not to buy a book because I didn’t like the cover. I like pretty things haha. I also have to take a break before the big, intense moments. The anticipation kills me and then knowing we’re at breaking point has me on edge so I need a breather before powering through it.
