Finally laid my hands on the final book in The Dark Artifices series. The cliffhanger at the end of Lord of Shadows almost killed me last year. I have no idea how I survived all of this waiting. Anyways…
After the battle with Annabelle at the Council Hall the Blackthorns and their friends are trying to process what happened deal with Livvy’s death. While they are grieving, they face new challenges as the new Inquisitor takes the place of Robert Lightwood and plans some radical changes in Shadowhunter’s politics. Julian and Emma find themselves on a dangerous mission in Faerie. Christina, Mark, and Kieran face some challenges of their own. The mysterious disease is starting to spread and affect warlocks. Bottom line a lot of problems need to be solved and a lot of action is expected. And the expectations totally met the reality.
As we all have an infinite capacity to make mistakes, we all have an infinite capacity for forgiveness.
How can a 900-page book be so intense and at the last 300 pages, I was just dying! Cassandra Clare, have mercy!
Julian, my dear Julian caused me the most pain in this book. But he was so amazing! I loved how smart and caring he was for his family and how involved he was with the entire situation with the Shadowhunters world. He has a huge heart and I’ll stop praising him or I’ll cry.
Felt better about Emma in this book. She grew up and developed as a character a lot on so many levels. They both deserved to be happy and I was hoping Cassandra Clare won’t break their hearts and everything would work out for them.
The love triangle. After reading Lord of Shadows, I was kind of confused and annoyed by the Christina-Kieran-Mark situation. However now I think they are sooooooooosweet. The scene where Kieran a tough Fae was taking love advice from Dru, OMG I DIED! #mugswisdom
Other characters as Diana, Magnus, Alec, Clary, Jace, Diego, Gwyn, Tessa, and Jem were amazing also. The last chapter of Magnus and Alec was just FJKJDFSDJ! I’m crying again.
Cassandra Clare is a master of cliffhangers endings. I have so many new questions and I need a new book urgently!
